Better Quality at Any Bandwidth – By delivering nearly ten times the quality of existing video-conferencing systems (limited to 352 x 288 pixels), users experience a completely new paradigm in HD face-to-face video communications (1280 x 720 pixels at 30 frames per second). With advanced processing capabilities, LifeSize systems provide better video at any bandwidth, including Cable TV quality at 384Kbps, DVD quality at 512Kbps and high definition resolution at 1Mbps. *Wainhouse Research recently tested the top three videoconferencing manufacturers (Polycom, Tandberg & LifeSize) and noted the following points during their testing of the LifeSize Room System: 1) Overall Performance - The LifeSize codec provided a solid videoconferencing experience at all bandwidths tested. Motion handling was generally excellent, and its $13k price point sets this codec into a value/performance class of its own! 2) Video Resolutions Supported - The LifeSize codec handles an extensive list of resolutions between CIF and HD, allowing users to get the best video for the available bandwidth. This is a notable power feature of the LifeSize platform. (LifeSize supports over 40 resolutions) 3) Embedded MCU - LifeSize’s Virtual Director feature allows each LifeSize endpoint participating in multipoint sessions to select (using the Layout button on the remote) which video images to display in the main window, while maintaining HD resolutions to HD-capable systems. This is definitely a power feature of the LifeSize Room System. (Virtual Multipoint is an exclusive patented feature) Systems and configurations tested by Wainhouse Research Polycom HDX 9002 included the following items: codec ($16,000), embedded 4-way MCU ($3,000), HD camera, ($5,000) and microphone array ($500) - for a total price of $24.5k. Tandberg 6000 MXP included the following items: 6000 MXP integrator kit ($17,500), the natural presenter package ($2,000), and the embedded MCU ($3,000) - for a total price of $22.5k.
Market Research suggests that for videoconferencing buyers, product pricing is still a major issue. With LifeSize, you get superior quality high definition videoconferencing solutions at price points starting under $5K. From simple entry-level solutions to sophisticated multimedia integration and/or large enterprise deployments, LifeSize has a complete product line to meet these specific needs and applications. Every system allows you to share presentations, spreadsheets, documents and multimedia. Choose your video system based on the features you want without jeopardizing the HD quality experience. Essentials that other videoconferencing manufacturers call “options” are included with all LifeSize systems to deliver full HD telepresence and features such as: 41280x720 resolution for clear details |
